Hydraulic pumps

The hydraulic pump is driven by the engine and feeds every function. Most mini excavators use a gear pump mounted to the engine or a bell housing.

Before you buy

Measure the mounting-slot or bolt-hole spacing and identify the shaft or spline type.
Check the rotation direction and port sizes. Pumps for different directions look the same.
Confirm whether your machine has a single or a tandem pump.

When to replace: Suspect the pump when every function is slow, the oil runs hot or the pump whines with fresh oil and clean filters.
