Swing & travel motors

Travel motors drive the tracks and the swing motor turns the upper structure on the slew ring. These are major repairs, so identify the exact variant first.

Before you buy

  • Read the motor plate for model, displacement and rotation. Most sellers ask for a photo of it.
  • Measure the mounting-flange bolt pattern and the shaft or sprocket interface.
  • For slew rings, count the teeth and measure the bolt circle and overall diameters.
  • Check whether a seal kit would fix the fault before replacing the motor.

When to replace: Travel motors fail with weak or one-sided tracking. Slew rings fail with grinding, play or metal in the grease.
