Why owners do it
Roll-bar-only machines leave the operator in full sun and rain. A bolt-on canopy or shade is a common early addition.
What is involved
- Check whether the maker sells a canopy for the model before fabricating one.
- Attach using existing mounting points or clamps rather than drilling the frame.
- Keep the shade light and well secured so it does not flap or catch branches.
Typical parts
- Model-specific canopy kit, or a frame-clamp shade
- Clamps or bolts sized to the existing mounting holes
Check before you start
- Do not drill or weld a rated ROPS or FOPS structure; doing so can void its rating.
- Check overall height for trailers, gates and sheds after fitting.
