Fuel filters & fuel system
Clean fuel keeps a diesel engine starting and running. Replace the fuel filter on schedule and bleed the system after any change.
Before you buy
- Read the part number on the old filter or find it in the engine manual. The engine family decides the filter.
- Check whether your filter has a water separator and drain.
- For pumps and injection parts, note the engine model and the number on the old part. Injection parts are very engine-specific.
- Bleed the system after replacing the filter.
When to replace: Replace on schedule, or sooner if the engine hesitates, loses power or is hard to start.
