Why owners do it
Pins and bushes on mini excavators wear quickly without frequent greasing, and play in the arm makes fine work difficult. Owners grease more often, add shims, and replace worn pins and bushes with hardened parts.
What is involved
- Grease every point on the schedule in the manual, and more often in sand or wet clay.
- Check each joint for play with the bucket on the ground.
- Add shims to take up side play, and replace worn pins and bushes.
- Replace missing or blocked grease nipples.
Typical parts
- Grease gun and suitable grease
- Replacement pins and bushes
- Shims
- Grease nipples
Check before you start
- Support the boom and arm securely before removing any pin.
- Measure pin diameter and length before ordering.
