Leon's love of digging

Leon moved to Coober Pedy a few years ago and rediscovered the childhood joy of digging holes.

First, in his backyard. Initially, a ditch to prevent flooding. But, it revealed how therapeutic swinging a shovel and pick was!

He's since dug more holes by hand, at home and on the Coober Pedy opal fields.

A mini excavator is now helping dig more dirt.

Leon wants this site to encourage others to try digging and build a community of like-minded people who appreciate the simply joy of digging.
